Children’s Games

On Sunday around mid-day, the childrens games are held. This is for 16 and under, and is supported by the St. Andrews Society of MacRae Meadows. There’s more information at the official GMHG Site.

This Event is staffed mostly Campers that have volunteered over the years and help make the event special! If you’re interested in helping out.. see someone with a staff shirt and offer your assistance, we can always use more help!

What to Expect

• Enter the field from the West Entrance in front of the Main Gate
• Please stay OUT of the dancers tents near the stands.
• The children can enter any of the setup events:
  • Caber Toss – using cardboard roles, PVC pipe and similar
  • Sheef Toss – Throwing a bale over a cross bar with a pitchfork
  • Tug of War – Pulling against other kids ( and sometimes overzealous parents )

What to Bring

• Sunblock – cloudy or not the sun will add some color to your skin
• Water – can be a few hours on the field.. so plan hydration
• Camera – lots of opportunities to catch your child demonstrating highland athletics!
