Scotch Tasting & Auction

This is an event that any camper can come join. It’s generally hosted right next to the flags on the main road. For a mere $20 donation, you can sample many different scotches and food donated by campers. All the proceeds goto the St. Andrews Society to help fun the Children Events at the Games.

What to Expect

• before the event, the auction pieces will be laid out. Generally there are three types of offers:
  • a “direct purchase” table with prices
  • a “silent auction” table with items you can bid on,
  • an “open auction” table with items that will be live-bid.
• A line will form starting about 30m before the event to get in.
• During the event:
  • Several different scotches from peaty to smokey; and you’re encouraged to start at one end and make it to the other
  • Lots of good food, much of it cooked right on the mountain. There is usually enough to forego Dinner if you’re of a mind, but it also helps to NOT have an empty stomach when scotch sampling.
• After the event the Auction will be held just outside.
  • Remember to ONLY RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU ARE BIDDING
  • Please have cash on hand for the items or make sure your payment method is accepted BEFORE bidding (Venmo, PayPal .. etc.)
  • And remember “it’s all for the kids!”

What to Bring

• Money to get in for the Tasting event, and money for the auction.
• If you care to donate food or a bottle of Scotch, please bring it to the space 30m before the event.
