Children’s Wrestling
At GMHG we teach children how to wrestle and compete in Higland Wrestling in a best of 3 format on the West End of the field. This is taught and officiated by GMHG Athletic Staff, children will be organized into groups based on approximate size/age and then wrestle for awards.
What to Expect
- You will wait on the RIGHT side of the gate before entering the field.
- We will enter the field from the West Entrance
- There are both Boys and Girls divisions at all age groups
- The maximum age is 17
- Competitors
- will wrestle to a fall, and it can be a hard fall
- do NOT have to be kilted
- MUST have any dangling rings ( ear, etc.. ) removed. Studs are ok if small.
- Spectators
- MUST sit on the field, you cannot stand
- Can move to the circle where your child is wrestling
- MUST move if the competitors are moving towards them
What to Bring
- a kilt for your child is preferred
- if wearing a kilt you MUST be wearing something under it
- water – hydration is Good!
- sunblock – cloudy or sunny
